WMOA SXSW

The Backstory

First we created fan love, then we curated it. Five years after launching the Whataburger Museum of Art online, we built the WMOA gallery at SXSW to celebrate Whataburger’s 75th Anniversary. With more than 200 original pieces, the collection featured digital, 3D, mural, abstract, and pop culture artwork.

How WMOA Came to Be

When people find a new way to express their love for your brand online, you don’t stamp it out with a cease and desist. You shine a spotlight on it. That’s what we did when we launched the Whataburger Museum of Art as a way to honor the fans who had been cooking up their own artful Whataburger creations inspired by the brand.
